Hey Everyone,
My name is John William Isaacs and this is my story so far.
I was born and raised in Cape May, New Jersey. Cape May is a seashore resort located at the southern most point of New Jersey where the ocean meets the bay. It is known for its bed and breakfasts, and its Victorian homes. It has a lay back style reminiscent of the Deep South. As a matter of fact if the Mason-Dixon Line was extended through New Jersey, Cape May would lie beneath it.
At the age of sixteen I was in an automobile accident that resulted in cervical injuries. My diagnosis is C-6 fraction dislocation. I have lived with this injury for forty-four years. It has not stopped me from accomplishing what I have set out to do. I have an Associates Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. I worked for the State of New Jersey, Department of Treasury, Division of Taxation, for twenty-five years as a corporate tax auditor. I retired as of July 1, 2008. I have been married to the lovely Linda for twenty-two years. She has enriched my life immensely. She is the apple of my eye. We had two dogs that were our children. Sadie passed in 2005 and Brady passed in 2007. We miss them a lot.
I have lived in Florida, Colorado, and Germany. I traveled extensively as a young man. I have been in thirty-six states and a few foreign countries. Being one of the sixties generation I was trying to find myself. My wanderings led me back to New Jersey. I have lived in the State’s capitol for the last twenty-five years. All roads lead home.
I am not formally educated as a poet. I have studied a poetry dictionary to begin to understand the art and science of the discipline. I have written poems since I was a teenager and enjoy it immensely. I can safely say it is my passion. I am an avid reader. I worked on my book for two and half years and enjoyed every minute of it. It is my hope that you will enjoy it too.
Another chapter in my life begins. I’m so looking forward to a second career as a poet and author. And all the new experiences and adventures it brings.
